About: Lewis Smithingham is British American filmmaker based out of New York City and Winnipeg, Canada. Lewis Smithingham, has released a number of award-winning films and videos that have received international distribution and have aired on music video channels all over the world. Lewis Smithingham received his Bachelor’s degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Film Production and Theory from UC Santa Cruz, where he studied under Chip Lord (Ant Farm), Gustavo Vasquez and Shelly Stamp. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Video & Film at the School of Visuals. His Master’s thesis advisors are famed critic Amy Taubin and filmmaker Guy Maddin (My Winnipeg, the Saddest Music in the World).
Founded in 2002, Lewis’ company, Powerchord Productions has specialized in music-related promotional content, including music videos, tour videography and documentary DVDs.
